When component volumes and design life justify the tooling expense, cold forming can be an extremely efficient material-saving process. Near net shape forming on multiple die machines saves material and cost. Additionally, the grain flow follows the contour of the part and adds strength. Secondary machining operations can be performed to the cold-formed blanks to add features and precision to the part. Cold forming material grades are typically different from machining grades-we can help with the conversion if needed.
